How to Download Video from a Link on iPhone and Android

Most phones don't let you save a video from Instagram, Twitter/X, or Facebook with a simple long-press the way you can with a photo. The good news is that you don't need to install a separate app to get around this — a browser-based tool like AllVideoDL works entirely through a link, on both iPhone and Android.

What you need before you start

• The public link (URL) to the video you want to save
• A web browser - Safari, Chrome, or any other mobile browser works fine
• Enough free storage space on your device

Step 1: Copy the video link

Open the app where the video is posted (Instagram, Twitter/X, or Facebook) and find the Share option, usually shown as an arrow icon or three dots. Tap Copy Link to copy the video's URL to your clipboard.

Step 2: Open AllVideoDL in your browser

Go to allvideodl.com in your phone's browser. You can also jump straight to a platform-specific page, such as our Instagram Reels downloader, Twitter/X video downloader, or Facebook video downloader.

Step 3: Paste the link and tap Start

Paste the copied link into the input box and tap Start. AllVideoDL will process the link in a few seconds and show a Download Video button when it's ready.

Step 4: Save the video to your device

On iPhone, tapping Download usually opens the video in a new tab - tap and hold the video, then choose Save Video to add it to your Photos app.

On Android, the file typically downloads straight to your Downloads folder, and you'll get a notification once it's finished. From there you can move it into your Gallery app if you'd like it to show up alongside your photos.

Troubleshooting tips

• Nothing happens when I paste the link: double-check that you copied the full URL, including "https://".
• The video won't process: make sure the post is public. Private accounts and login-only content can't be downloaded.
• The download button doesn't do anything on iPhone: try opening the link in Safari specifically, since some in-app browsers block downloads.
