How to Download Tumblr GIFs and Videos

A lot of what looks like a "GIF" on Tumblr is actually a short, silent video file playing on a loop - Tumblr converts many uploaded GIFs into video format behind the scenes for faster loading. Either way, you can save both real videos and GIF-style posts from Tumblr the same way.

Step 1: Copy the post link

Open the Tumblr post containing the video or GIF, click the Share icon, and choose Copy Link.

Step 2: Paste it into AllVideoDL

Go to the AllVideoDL Tumblr downloader and paste the link into the input box.

Step 3: Download

Click Start, wait a few seconds, then click Download Video to save the file to your device.

Will it download as a GIF or an MP4?
