How to Download a Reddit Video With Sound

If you've ever downloaded a Reddit video and found it completely silent, you're not alone. This happens because of how Reddit stores video files - and it's easy to fix once you understand why.

Why Reddit videos download without sound

Reddit hosts the picture and the audio of a video as two separate files on its servers (this is a quirk of the DASH streaming format it uses). Many basic download methods - like right-clicking a video and choosing "Save Video As" - only grab the video track, leaving the audio behind.

How to download with sound included

1. Open the Reddit post with the video, tap Share, and choose Copy Link.
2. Go to the AllVideoDL Reddit downloader and paste the link into the box.

Does this work for all Reddit videos?
